Dracula runs an upscale resort for monsters where they can go and not be bothered by humans but the secrecy of his hotel becomes jeopardized when a human boy stumbles into the lobby.

After the death of his wife Martha, Count Dracula (Adam Sandler) designs and builds a large, lavish hotel to be a safe haven for his daughter Mavis (Selena Gomez).  The hotel also serves as a getaway for all monsters, looking to find a safe place to get away from humans.

Mavis is getting ready to turn 118 years old and Dracula has a huge party planned for her and invites monsters from all over the world.  Since she has been so sheltered her whole life, Mavis wants to go out and see the world.  Dracula agrees and gives her directions to a small village not too far away from the hotel.  He then races here there to make sure the zombies that work for the hotel have the village completely set up for Mavis' arrival.

When Mavis arrives she tries to be friendly but the zombies are dressed as humans and they successfully drive Mavis to return home.  However, the zombies inadvertently bring 21 year old human Johnny (Andy Samberg) to the hotel.  When Dracula discovers he is a human, he does everything he can to try to removed Johnny before anyone realizes that a human has infiltrated their safe haven.

I just loved this film!  It was too cute.  There were a few spots that seemed like the scene took too long to develop but overall the story was funny and entertaining.  I am typically not a big fan of Selena Gomez but she made Mavis completely adorable.

This film does have Sandler's usual cast mates-- David Spade, Steve Buscemi and Kevin James which obviously helps.  They are good friends and it helps the comradery of the film.  There were a few times that Sandler's voice tends to grind on the nerves a little but if you can get past that, the film is very enjoyable.

In preparation for Halloween, this is a great film to watch with your favorite little people.  Gather your little people for this not so scary Halloween film and Don't Forget the Popcorn!
